Energy-saving production with minimum usage of resources has been one of the central principles at emtechnik for many years. In this way we fulfil our social responsibility to people, nature and the environment.
True progress is only conceivable for emtechnik when it is based on sustainable solutions that take into consideration an even balance between technological innovation and protection of our natural resources. Since January 2008 we have converted our entire energy supply to renewable raw materials through investment in a new block heating and regenerating plant.
The new emtechnik energy plant produces not only bio-electricity, which we feed back into the public power network, but also heat. We use this heat to heat and cool our production buildings and machines. That means significantly better use of energy, consistent reduction of CO2 emissions, and an active contribution to climate protection.
All internal measures on the topic on environment management are organised and monitored by our environment manager. This includes dealing responsibly with all raw materials required in production in exactly the same way as a consistent system for waste reuse and recycling. All waste produced during the manufacturing process is always collected separately. Very high quality, expensive plastics such as PEEK, PFA, and PVDF are rigorously collected and sent for regranulation. PTFE is sold to third parties and provided for recycling. Paper, electrical scrap and any metals are also separated and sent for recycling. In compliance with regulations on waste oil, all hydraulic oils, soluble oils, coolants are collected separately, purified and sent for recycling.
