emtechnik was founded by Norbert Meier in 1965 in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Today the second generation of the family business with more than 100 employees is led by Michael Meier, who took over management of the company in 1995 and still consistently follows the core principle of emtechnik that has held for more than 45 years: developing innovative products from our customers' perspective.
From Pioneer to Market-Leading Company.
The initial idea of Norbert Meier when emtechnik was founded was to develop innovative plastic connectors and fittings in small nominal diameters which are able to meet even the most extreme requirements in medical, chemical, analytical, or lab technology.
Michael Meier is still committed to this basic idea today. Under his direction, development of precision fittings and high-performance products has also been consistently advanced, for example internationalisation through the company's own subsidiaries and sales partners in the most important markets of the world.
From Standard Applications to Individual Customer Solutions
emtechnik provides suitable and practical applications from small connectors to complex solutions, as are required today in many areas of instrumentation for high-tech industry. In four decades we have developed numerous product ideas that are now standard solutions on the market. This is the reason that even today our production takes place exclusively at our headquarters in Maxdorf, because that is the only way we can ensure that our high quality requirements will be met.
An Overview of Our History
1965 Founding of EM-Technik GmbH by Norbert Meier.
1973 Move from Ludwigshafen to Maxdorf
1982 Introduction of hose connector series 1A, which quickly became one of our top sellers and is one of our classic products today.
1985 Founding of EM-Technique SARL in Paris (France) as the first subsidiary outside of Germany.
1995 Change in top-level management: Michael Meier takes the reins of the company as successor to Norbert Meier and accelerates the implementation of global marketing strategies and worldwide sale of products. Market launch of series 1C pipe connector. The sealing ring and cutting ring make the series ideal for use in the high-temperature range and with aggressive media.
1997 Development of Flare connector 1D, which is especially important for the semiconductor industry. Construction of class 100 clean-room.
1998 Founding of EM-Technik Holland B.V. in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
1999 Founding of EM-Technik Italia SRL in Milan (Italy).
2000 Founding of our Belgian branch office and beginning of cooperation with ASAHI/AMERICA as sales partner for the USA
2003 Market launch of the new series 1 M mini-hose connector, especially for pharmaceutical and medical applications.
2006 Founding of EM-Technik India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune (India).
2007 The production area is doubled by conversion of a production hall and modernisation of production technology.
Construction of new technology headquarters and commissioning of our own bio-block heating and regenerating plant for regenerative power supply.
2008 With the founding of EM-Technik East Asia Ltd. in Taiwan, emtechnik extends its commitment in Asia.
2009 With the founding of EM-Technik Tooling GmbH, emtechnik now has its own mould making system to respond more quickly to the needs of the market and our customers.
2010 New sales partner in Chile, Intech Analytica E.I.R.L. to strengthen our activities in South America.
2011 Construction of a modern new warehouse (1300 m2) to further optimise our production logistics.
