The new emtechnik warehouse has been inaugurated after just seven months of construction.
Maxdorf, 27.01.2012: Good things are known to take time. But sometimes things can also go a little faster than expected. After just seven months of construction, emtechnik Managing Director Michael Meier welcomed customers, employees, architect Bernd Edinger, local mayor Werner Baumann and municipality mayor Marie-Luise Klein to the inauguration of the new warehouse at emtechnik company headquarters in Maxdorf.
Construction of the new warehouse also represents a strategic milestone as it fills the last gap in an efficiency offensive emtechnik has pursued in recent years, first modernising its production and then reorganising all of its manufacturing processes. As emtechnik Managing Director Michael Meier pointed out in his welcoming remarks, while the old warehouse was only five minutes from the production facility, the resulting back-and-forth traffic for transporting goods and individual parts ultimately posed a great impediment to consistent implementation of the philosophy of production with short distances.
This goal has now been reached with the inauguration of the new warehouse. Individual parts manufactured in production now move directly into the quality assurance area. After inspection they are placed in storage in the modern rack and lift system. Assembly of individual parts, storage of finished parts and shipping now work hand in hand under one roof in the new building. Even after just a few weeks, said Michael Meier, the new building and the optimisation processes associated with it have proven their worth. The emtechnik Managing Director thanked the architect and construction manager for the successful collaboration
Architect Bernd Edinger next explained some details of the new building construction. With a gross volume of 7000 m³, the new building provides an effective surface of 1360 m². The new building is also connected to the regenerative block heating plant, as is the entire emtechnik production facility. It thus represents a sustainable investment in terms of energy efficiency as well.
On behalf of the district of Maxdorf, the local mayor Werner Baumann expressed warmest congratulations to Michael Meier and all emtechnik employees. Mayor Baumann said he was proud to have a company like emtechnik in Maxdorf that showed long-term dedication in giving back to the community, citing the company's exemplary support of the youth centre, youth community representatives, sports clubs and schools.
The municipality mayor, Marie-Luise Klein expressed her great appreciation of emtechnik's investment in its Maxdorf location. Praising emtechnik as an excellent, future-oriented work provider, she noted that the company has steadily added to the number of its employees in recent years.
